Hello everyone, this week is mental health awareness week and I have seven blog posts planned – one for each day of the week – in order to carry on raising awareness. This is blog post number 1.
The theme of this years mental health awareness week is: ‘surviving or thriving’ which, from what I have read, has been chosen to highlight that good mental heath is more than just the absence of a mental health problem, and is there to challenge why too few of us are living with good mental health.
This year, the mental health foundation will be using the week to look at the following issues:
- How many of us are surviving or thriving, and the difference between the two
- Why some communities are under strain and what the government can do to support them thrive
- What steps we can take to look after our mental health, building resilience to cope with the demands of life
Comment below, if you yourself thrive or survive and what action you take in order to look after your mental health. Make sure you keep a look out as I’m going to be doing a blog post on ways in which you can look after your mental health; this is aimed at everyone, not just people who have a mental health problem.
It is important to raise awareness about mental health, not just this week but all year round. I really hope that you all enjoy reading my blog posts that I’ve got planned, I’ve put a lot of thought and research into each post and as you know, if you’ve read my previous blog posts, mental health is something that affects me personally therefore, I’m very passionate about raising awareness.
